This exquisite reproduction is drawn directly from Johann Elert Bode's Uranographia of 1801 — one of the most ambitious star atlases ever produced, depicting over 17,000 stars across 20 engraved plates. This chart presents the complete northern celestial hemisphere in a polar azimuthal equidistant projection, with Polaris at its apex.
Seventeen constellation figures appear in full: Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Cassiopeia, Perseus, Auriga, Gemini, Canis Minor, Leo, Virgo, Boötes, Hercules, Lyra, Cygnus, Aquila, Pegasus, Andromeda, and Aries — each rendered in the neoclassical engraving style of the period, with star magnitudes indicated by point size.
The ecliptic, celestial equator, and hour-angle meridians are all indicated in the original cartographic conventions of the era. A compass rose and degree scale border the outer ring.

The master scan was commissioned by Celestia Charts directly from the Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid, from their holding of Bode's Uranographia (shelfmark: GMm/1119). The digitisation was performed at 1,200 dpi under raking light conditions by the BNE's Conservation and Digitisation Department.
Colour grading was performed against the original physical plate under controlled 5000K D50 lighting. No digital constellation additions or star inventions were introduced — every point of light and every line visible on this print is present in the 1801 original.
Each purchase is accompanied by a letterpress-printed certificate of provenance, hand-numbered and stamped with the archive reference, plate number, and edition date.
All prints are flat-packed in acid-free archival tissue and inserted between two 5mm foam-core boards. The package is sealed in a moisture-barrier poly sleeve and placed inside a rigid stay-flat mailer. Rolled shipping is available for 70 cm and 100 cm formats on request.
